IlluminoCity Competition

The IlluminoCity Competition is where a host Business partners up with a not-for-profit. Host business/property partners are then asked to decorate and light up their building in 1 of 4 categories.  The property must be fully decorated by November 19th. NOTE: To promote sustainability, LED lighting is highly encouraged.

A public People’s Choice Award will be open for public voting hosted by the Daily Gazette between November 19th and January 14th.

A panel of judges will select 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prize winners in four judged categories.

Partnership Application Form

Host businesses must connect with a not-for-profit to participate. However, a not-for-profit can host themselves as long as they are in the district. Forms should be submitted no later than November 1, 2022. You can download the PDF Version of the form here, or click the appropriate form button for you.

Don’t know what not-for-profit to partner up with? Here is a list of local not-for-profits: List of Not-For-Profits. If you know of others to that you would like to see added, feel free to email us.

By completing this application form, both local host business and not-for-profit partners agree to release the City of Schenectady from indemnification and hold harmless in the case of faulty or improper installation of lighting displays and connection to power sources.  As well as supervision of installation, and any additional risk or hazards to passersby and volunteers acting as agents or employees of either the local host business or not-for-profit.
